The porous ceramic tip measures soil moisture by reacting to dryness

When the soil is dry, water is drawn out of the tip, creating negative pressure in the plastic tube—this is shown on the display. The drier the soil, the higher the reading. After watering, the soil reabsorbs moisture, the tube refills with water, and the pressure drops again.

The easiest way to measure moisture. For the most accurate results, leave the Blumat Digital in one spot.

If you move it, allow 2–3 hours for the sensor to adjust and provide a reliable reading.
